I run a busy bar and I am frustrated when sales become really slow when customers go and check drinks orders and leaving the member of staff and the terminal in suspended animation.
Mark Bagnall says: what you need is a suspend/resume feature. POSLink has this and gives you the ability to suspend or resume a sale. In your scenario a till operator can actually serve two people at the same time. So if you have a busy queue of people waiting at the bar and a customer is checking the order with his friends, you can suspend the sale – which tucks it away – and move onto serve your next customer. Once completed, you can hit resume sale. Your previous sale pops back and you continue the sale through to completion. As well as suspend and resume, we have clerk interrupt. Members of staff can log on and off the terminal and recall their last transaction, no matter where it was made.
