POD, an award winning fast-expanding healthy, fast-food chain based in London, has selected IBS to provide EPOS systems for its new stores as the brand looks to almost double its number of outlets by the end of the year.
IBS is providing its own highly acclaimed POSLink touchscreen technology, Aures Odysse terminals, integrated Commidea chip’n’ pin terminals and contactless ‘tap-and-go’ readers to speed up the purchasing process for the busy stores.
POD, named as the Lunch! Independent Retailer of the Year in 2010, currently has 12 stores in London and plans to open a further 10 outlets over the coming months.
Launched by CEO and founder Tim Hall in 2006, POD pioneers ‘green’ retailing with compostable packaging made from plants, extensive use of recycled materials for POD interiors and a commitment to sustainability across everything it does.
“We’re embarking upon a critical stage of our development as a business as we are almost doubling the number of POD outlets in London. The IBS EPOS solution is essential to achieving growth, both as means of ensuring sales transactions are fast, easy and accurate and by also giving us the necessary access to business intelligence to help with decision making,” said Tim Hall, POD’s founder and CEO.
“We can track how we are performing without it getting too complicated. IBS has helped us create a series of easily digestible business reports that identify our key performance indicators,”  he added.
“POD is a really busy brand with each store having six or seven terminals to meet demand during peak times. We’ve added a contactless capability to ensure customers can buy even quicker and easier,” said Gareth Powell, IBS’s managing director.
“Going forward, we’re looking forward to developing the POD EPOS solution as the business expands, including implementing new ways of adding value to the POD experience. Equally, an expanding business needs tight cost and operational controls and our EPOS solution will give them the tools to achieve this too.
