Intelligent Business Systems has just completed a major seven-figure contract with PizzaExpress to upgrade its POS and enterprise management system at over 350 outlets in the UK and Channel Islands.
An intensive installation programme saw nine installations per week over a nine-month period. IBS ensured minimal disruption to the chain's daily trading as each system was live and ready to trade by 11.30am.
In addition to the installation programme, IBS worked closely with PizzaExpress to ensure a seamless transition to the upgraded POS and enterprise management system by establishing a specialist training room for pre-installation staff training.
The roll-out also included associated brands like Café Pasta, Milano, Gourmet Pizza, Marzano and Kettners.
“Precision planning was essential to ensure every element of the contract ran smoothly. Training was particularly important to ensure a smooth transition of the systems,” commented IBS managing director, Gareth Powell.
PizzaExpress is one of the best-known restaurant chains in the UK, with over 16 million customers a year enjoying genuine Italian pizzas using ingredients freshly prepared by pizzaiolos.
Based in Brackley, Northants, IBS operates exclusively in the hospitality, catering and leisure market, supplying POS management systems to multi-site enterprises and complex individual sites needing a high degree of management control. As well as the UK and Europe, IBS recently introduced StockLink to the North American hospitality market, winning a 350-site account gain with health food chain, Smoothie King.
